ichristie@keystonehabitatservices.com
Ian Christie is a restoration ecologist with a decade of hands-on experience leading habitat restoration and vegetative management projects across Oregon and Washington. His work spans every stage of the process—from field operations and site assessment to project design, monitoring, grant writing and technical reporting.Ian fell in love with ecology and the outdoors from an early age, learning about plants and ecosystems while walking the woods with his mother, who also worked in conservation. As his love for the natural world evolved he took inspiration from reading the works of his grandmother, famed naturalist writer and wildlife biologist Rachel Carson-author of Silent Spring.
A skilled field ecologist and strategic project manager, Ian blends precision with ecological understanding. He takes pride in the care and attention to detail he brings to each project, ensuring that every site is managed with integrity and long-term resilience in mind.
Ian holds a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Science from Lewis & Clark College, and is a published author in The Journal of Environmental Toxicology and Chemosphere. He is particularly passionate about fire ecology, wildfire recovery, and plant-mycorrhizal interactions. While not at work you can find Ian exploring local trails and waterways by foot and canoe.

Our Shared Vision
Keystone exists to restore balance where people and nature meet.
We believe good work in the field is as much about connection as it is about ecology. Every project builds relationships between land, community, and the systems that sustain them both.
Let’s care for what sustains us
Whether you’re a landowner, municipality, or organization, we’re here to help you bring ecological integrity back to your site.
